The mission of the Foundation is
to benefit the welfare of children and families and to support
public safety in specific communities. Therefore the Foundation will only make
grants to organizations whose projects or programs exclusively
benefit the residents of: Jackson & Josephine Counties, Oregon;
Barry County, Missouri and Cabell County, West Virginia.
Application Procedures and Deadlines:
The Foundation has an online application process and the Board
makes funding decisions twice a year. Proposals sent by mail or
fax will not be accepted. Late applications will not be considered
and the Foundation cannot expedite a funding decision.
The Foundation has a spring and a fall grant cycle. Applications
are due on or before January 31st and July 31st. Final grant decisions will be announced 9-12 weeks after
each deadline.
The Chaney Family Foundation will not accept proposals
requesting more than $15,000 or less than $1,000.
Eligibility Considerations and Requirements:
Grant applications will be accepted only from tax-exempt
agencies. No grants to individuals will be made. The Foundation
awards grants in four strategic areas:
• Human Services
• Public Safety
• Faith Based Programs
• Other Charitable Causes
Previously successful grant applicants are eligible to apply for
funding every 12 months. Example: If you received a grant in the
Spring of 2007, you are eligible to re-apply in Spring of 2008.
Please note, if you have received a general operating grant you
will be asked to sit out a year before requesting additional
support. Example: Organization A received $5,000 in the spring
of 2009 to support their work (general operating dollars). You
will not be eligible to request general operating support again
until spring of 2011.
